12/22/16 - Day 1: The Broad

There's no better way to start off my LA trip than with a very cultured activity and visit the Broad museum. The Broad is a contemporary museum that features artists such as Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons and the most exciting one, Yayoi Kusama. Yayoi Kusama is the creator of the famous Infinity Room, the exhibit that features a mirrored room filled with water and LED lights. While you are only allowed in this exhibit for one 45-second session, it was surreal witnessing it in person after I wrote about it about it in a contemporary art class my freshman year.

Unfortunately after waiting over 3 hours the miniscule time of 45 seconds, I could only manage a snapchat, a phone pic and a few shots of my camera of my sister. We even tried to go under a fake name to try and go again but we failed beautifully. It was still an amazing experience and I already can't wait to go back

My sister and I tried to be LA-chic and went to one of those sushi conveyor belt restaurants and it was extremely yummy. Funky teas, funky appetizers and delish mochi, oh my

Rach and I ended our night with LA's largest and most famous record shop, Amoeba. And when I say we spent over 3 hours here, I'm not exaggerating one bit. There were endless DVDs, records, old movies, thrifted books and it was honestly a dream come true for the Stern girls. And it was 2 stories. Huge. And the stairwell featuring some cool graffiti was also a plus
